We've changed our schedule and added a second blues dance every month
Burgh Blues is moving our monthly Live Blues dance from the last Friday of the month to the
second Friday, and changed the location to the Bulgarian Macedonian Cultural Center(BMNECC) in Homstead
(just past the Waterfront Shopping Center). There will still be an End of the Month blues dance at
Wightman featuring the best recoded blues for your dancing pleasure.
We're making the change for several reasons: first and foremost, the new hall is a great venue for
blues and for dancing. The hall is a traditional Pittsbugh "club" - the type of venue where great blues
and jazz have been played in Pittsburgh for decades. The floor is excellent and the feel is "funky".
The club already plays host to Cajun, Zydeco and
Salsa dances so many of you are already familiar with it. There is a full bar available.
There is adequate parking nearby, including the Borough/Police Station lot accross the street.
Furthermore, we can move the dance up to the more "traditional" time of 9:00 til Midnight, and the
preceding lesson can be held in the main hall, making much more room available for instruction.
